Situation update

1.     Top charter boat in 2006

a.      We have just completed our best ever season of fun racing and amazing results. The highlights included:

                                                              i.      Taking 5 bullets from 5 races against 16 x 40.7s in the inaugural Anglo Irish Bank Regatta

ii.      Another 3 bullets in 3 races in the Kuehn & Nagel Regatta (Transport) – 12 x 40.7s, client helming

iii.      Placing first in the Price Waterhouse Coopers annual regatta – against a variety of yachts including X45s, X40s, Kerr 11.3 and Reflex 38s

iv.      First equal on points (but placed 2nd) out of 18 x 40.7s in the PPP/PFI regatta

                                                           v.      Winning another half dozen corporate one day fun events

vi.      Placing in the top three of the prestigious Manches Cup (legal) and City Challenge/Volvo Cup with inexperienced crews

vii.      Winning the Island Sailing Club Tuesday evening series (not on charter)

viii.      Being just 1 point from winning Skandia Cowes Week IRC3 – 40.7s

ix.      Top charter 40.7 in JP Morgan Round The Island Race

                                                           x.      2nd equal in Little Britain* event

We are first to acknowledge that the crew are the largest part of the equation but this demonstrates that Anticipation is not slow.

4.     New masthead spinnaker* and new mainsail

a.      The introduction of the new masthead spinnaker has been successful and it will be kept in mint condition for the important race events.

b.     The new race mainsail with luff slides and 2 reef points looks and performs fast.

5.     Planned new headsails and spinnaker/gennaker

a.      Our racing headsails consist of excellent North and Sobstad models

b.     Over the winter we intend to develop some new medium and heavy genoas and perhaps a jibtop reacher.

c.     And we may augment our North and Deegan spinnakers and code zero with a gennaker and another heavyweight reacher – although we can only carry 3 racing.

6.     Seatrack tactical software. We will reveal more about this terrific piece of software later but it will be utilised for the offshore races in 2007

a.

7.

8.     Cowes Week

a.      Several of you have already indicated that they will not be able to afford the time but if anyone is interested in joining us for some or all days of Cowes Week then let us know. Its great fun. The daily cost will include accommodation in our crew bunkhouse by the Seafront.

b.

9.     Loving upkeep. As a privately owned boat and with the prospect of the Fastnet 2007 looming then over the winter every fitting will be carefully checked from the keelbolts, rudder bearings and through hull fittings to each clutch, winch and halyard.

10. Wet weather and warm gear. We have 12 sets of coastal gear and a few sets of used offshore gear you can utilise if you wish. If you intend to purchase new gear then we can pass on discounts from some of the local chandleries. As a member of Team Anticipation you may also purchase XM gear through us (and any other Navimo ie XM and Plastimo equipment at virtually trade prices). This includes sailing gloves, thermals and shoes.  We can also supply the leather and goretex boots by Quayside at trade plus – so great savings.

11. Sponsorship

a.      Currently there is no individual or whole boat sponsorship for our campaign. However if you wish to work something with your business or employers then lets talk. This could range from simply hull/sail/boom stickers to the contra of a day or 2 of team building or corporate entertainment. In the 2005 Fastnet our navigator raised money for Sail4Cancer and we chipped in.

12. Other sailing

a.      You are welcome to join us racing in Cowes on any Tuesday evening through the summer – no charge

b.
